Racing / Cruising Schedule

Lake Shore Sail Club (LSSC) was established in 1969 as a family
racing club. LSSC has grown to sponsor one of the most popular weekend night racing series
on Lake St. Clair and the Inter-Club Team Race in the Fall. |

Wednesday
Sunset Series Program
|
|
For each Wednesday Night Race the crew should be at the dock at 6:00 pm.
Race 1: May 16 -- beer and burgers
afterward at Jack's Waterfront Resturant.
Race 2: May 23 -- beer and burgers
afterward at Jack's Waterfront Resturant.
Race 3: May 30 -- beer and burgers
afterward at Jack's Waterfront Resturant.
Race 4: June 6 -- beer and burgers
afterward at Jack's Waterfront Resturant.
Race 5: June 13 -- beer and burgers
afterward at Jack's Waterfront Resturant.
Race 6: June 20 -- Awards Party afterward
at the Harper Woods Community Center.
For each Wednesday Night Race the crew should be at the dock at 6:00 pm.

Race 2: August 15 -- beer and burgers

Sunday and
Special Race Program

 | Regular
Sunday Club Series for 2001, four races for Lake Shore Sail Club (LSSC) members
only. These races start at just after 1:00 pm and usually last 2-3 hours, all depends on
the wind of course. Overall series winner recieves a trophy.

For each Regular Sunday Race the crew should be at the dock at 12:00 pm.
Race 1: May 16 -- Hot Dog Roast afterward
at Jefferson Beach Marina Park.
Race 2: May 23 -- Hot Dog Roast
afterward at Jefferson Beach Marina Park.
Race 3: August 8 -- Hot Dog Roast
afterward at Jefferson Beach Marina Park.
Race 4: September 12 -- Hot Dog Roast
afterward at Jefferson Beach Marina Park.
If any of the 4 races are abandoned, up to 2 alternate
races will be held:
Alt. Race 1: June 16 -- beer and burgers
afterward at Jack's Waterfront Resturant.
Alt. Race 2: June 23 -- Awards Party
afterward at the Harper Woods Community Center.

Club Series for 2001, five races for Lake Shore Sail Club (LSSC) members only.
Each Race starts at in the afternoon but starting times vary by Race. These are trophy
races.

For each Special Sunday Race the crew should be at the dock at the indicated time.
Thomas Cup: June 13 -- Starts at 10:00 am
(Crew at the dock by 9:00 am) -- Hot Dog Roast afterward at Jefferson Beach Marina Park. This is a Long Distance Race.
Jack & Jill: June 27 -- Starts at
1:00 pm (Crew at the dock by 12:00 pm) -- Hot Dog Roast afterward at
Jefferson Beach Marina Park. This is for 1 male and 1 female crew, who will part company
afterward.
Single-Handed: July 25 -- Starts at 1:00
pm (Crew at the dock by 12:00 pm) -- Hot Dog Roast afterward at Jefferson
Beach Marina Park. This is obviously for 1 person, no crew required on this day -- except
for moral support or laughter.
Petticoat: August 29 -- Starts at 1:00 pm
(Crew at the dock by 12:00 pm) -- Hot Dog Roast afterward at Jefferson
Beach Marina Park. This race must be helmed by a woman only, cross-dressing has been
banned.
Commodore's Cup: October 2 -- Starts at
3:00 pm (Crew at the dock by 2:00 pm) -- Hot Dog Roast afterward at
Jefferson Beach Marina Park. This is a Long Distance Race usually finishing well after
dark.

Cruises
|
|
| LSSC Cruises
for 2001, these cruises are weekend trips to various ports around Lake St.Clair.
Breakfasts, dinners out-on-the-town and partys are recipe for good memories.

For each Cruise the revelers should be at the dock at the indicated time.
Memorial Day Cruise, Belle River: May 29,
30, 31 -- We leave at 10:00 am (Family and Friends at the dock by 9:00 am)
--We sail to Belle River Marina in Canada.
Father's Day Cruise, Metro Beach: June 19,
20 -- We leave at 10:00 am (Family at the dock by 9:00 am) --We sail to
Metro Beach Marina.
Forth of July Cruise, Belle River: July 3,
4, 5 -- We leave at 10:00 am (Family and Friends at the dock by 9:00 am)
--We sail to Belle River Marina in Canada.
Labor Day Cruise, Harsens Island:
September 4, 5, 6 -- We leave at 10:00 am (Crew at the dock by 9:00 am)
--We sail to Harsen's Island in Canada.
