| The Shared Image for LADDERS on the OpenVMS
system—when used with a required equipment – integrates the original five
applications found on the LADDERS PDP-11/RT-11 systems. The five applications—I/O Wiring Diagrams, Design and Documentation, Cross Reference, Logic Up/Download and Text Up/Download—are layered beneath a user interface of simple popup menus and diagrams boxes. This integration simplifies the time consuming tasks of generating prints, importing and exporting logic and text and frees the LADDERS operator of handling floppy disks. The software includes utilities to convert the hard drive system files created by our PDP-11 systems. The Access Screen shown above allows the LADDERS operator to quickly view their VMS directories in an orderly fashion tuned to the LADDERS environment. File type handling is transparent and logical. When a file type is accessed its creator—the Allen-Bradley PLC-3 package for instance—is automatically activated for the operator and status is displayed on the screen. |
